SeaJay plots the holes

Distance racing breeds ingenuity...

For the record: near Coburg, the spinnaker got multiple wraps around the forestay, when released, it was twisted perhaps 20 times. Upon taking it down, the top of the halyard was found to have the outer covering completely cut open. This was fixed, when suddenly the Genoa disappeared over the side. Thus Friday early morning was spent under main alone until we could see.

Peter and Jim W then studied how to get the furling swivel and halyard from up top. They developed an ingenious lasso around the forestay with slip knots and hoisted it with the topping lift. On third try, we now had the Genoa available! They deserve a strong mention for being inventive!

After that the principle holes were 15 or so hours in the middle of the lake, and another 6 to seven from Burlington to Oakville!

Good hindsight fun!
