The host Port Credit Yacht Club wasn't without its champions at the 17th running of the Solmar Lake Ontario 300.
Of the 104 boats that started the race last Saturday morning, including nine entries from the United States and two from Quebec, some 30 failed to complete the circumnavigation of Lake Ontario.
Category winners from Port Credit included Ken Martin, James Wilkinson and Ian McAllister.
Martin, and crew Corey Sawchuck, placed first among six competitors in the D1-White Fleet class on their boat, Thunder. The team finished in a time of one day, 23 hours, 10 minutes and 17 seconds, five hours ahead of second-place finisher Mike Newbury of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club.
Wilkinson was aboard Wayward in the F3-White Fleet category. Going up against seven other boats, Wilkinson finished in two days, 11 hours, 28 minutes, three seconds.
McAllister had the most competition in the F4 Spin Fleet. Nine boats started, with McAllister winning by just under a half hour ahead of Bob Hickson.
A total of 15 categories were up for grabs, with competitors separated based on the boat's length, weight, sail area, type of rigging and keel. Boats either competed in white sail over a 150-mile course, or the 300-mile Spinnaker course.
Boats also competed in double-handed or fully-crewed fleets.
